An innovative concept in horizontal auger boring systems, the Zipper is designed for speed and use in limited easement areas. A short carriage enables setup in trench only 6' long. 4"-6"-8" and larger cased bores, using PVC or steel pipe in 10' sections, can be performed in only a 13' long trench. Powered by your backhoe, and McL-2000 or McL-3000 Power Pack, twin hydraulic cylinders located on the bore centerline produce 24,500 lbs. forward thrust @ 2,500 psi. The powerful hydraulic motor delivers 1030 ft. lbs. torque to the drive chuck, and the variable speed valve controls auger rotation to 120 rpm.
